What's a max bid?

Saxe-Ernestine. A House Order of Saxe-Ernestine, Miniature, c. 1900

Instituted March 25, 1833 by Duke Ernest I of Coburg-Gotha, Duke Friedrich of Altenburg, and Duke Bernhard Erich Freund of Saxony-Meiningen. In Gold, a white enamelled Maltese Cross with ball finials and lions in each quadrant, the obverse center presents a left facing profile, surrounded by a blue enamel ring and a green enamelled oak leaf cluster, the reverse center presents Saxe-Ernestine Coat of Arms, surmounted by a crown and suspension ring, measures 15.93mm (w) x 26.67mm (h – inclusive of crown), weighs 2.9 grams, large enamel loss to the green enamel wreath on both obverse and reverse, otherwise near very fine condition.

Footnote: The awards conferred upon citizens of the three founding Duchies had an oak wreath surrounding the centre medallion, while the awards conferred upon foreigners did not have an oak wreath surrounding the centre medallion.
