(Ehrenzeichen für Verdienst im Kriege). Instituted on 7 March 1915. (1918 Issue). A zink medal, the centre obverse presents the letter B for Bernhard, on a cross pattée, with an outer ring of dense oak leaves, the reverse presents the Saxony coat of arms, on the centre of the cross, surrounded by a ring inscribed FÜR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT) IM KRIEGE (IN WAR) 1914/15, measuring 39.26 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original combat ribbon, and in very fine condition.
