Saxe-Weimar, Duchy. A 1914 General Honour Medal for Merit with Swords, Silver Grade
(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen in Silber Dem Verdienste 1914 mit Schwerterspange). Instituted 25 June 1902 by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with sword clasp, the obverse with a central leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “DEM VERDIENST 1914” (“FOR MERIT 1914”), within a circular oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 36.08 mm in diameter, most of the silver finish has been lost, in overall very fine condition.
