Saxe-Weimar, Duchy. A General Merit Medal, Silver Grade, with Clasp
(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen in Silber Dem Verdienste 1914 mit Schwerterspange). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with crossed swords clasp, the obverse with a raised leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with inscription of “DEM VERDIENST 1914” (“FOR MERIT 1914”), marked “SILBER” with a purity number of “890”, measuring 36.07 mm in diameter, weighing 32.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
