(Dienstauszeichnung III. Klasse für 9 Jahre). Instituted 20 December 1913 by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst. (1913-1918 issue). Constructed of silvered feinzink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central monogram of Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by an inscription of “TREUE DIENSTE BEI DER FAHNE” (“FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE FLAG”), the reverse with a number “9” in Roman numerals, unmarked, measuring 30.09 mm in diameter, weighing 11.7 grams, in better than very fine condition.
