Saxon Duchies. A Rare Long Service Medal for Enlisted Personnel and Non-Commissioned Officers, I Class for 15 Years
(Dienstauszeichnung I. Klasse für Unteroffiziere und Mannschaften für 15 Dienstjahre). Instituted 31 August 1913 by Duke Ernst II of Saxe-Altenburg, Duke Georg II of Saxe-Meiningen, and Duke Carl Eduard of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. (1913-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded copper, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central medallion bearing a raised Saxon coat of arms, the reverse with a central medallion bearing a raised number “15” in Roman numerals, unmarked, measuring 34.85 mm (w) x 38.55 mm (h), weighing 12.0 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
