Saxony, Kingdom. A Medal for Life-Saving, Museum Exhibition Piece
(Medaille für Lebensrettung). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of King Friedrich August of Saxony, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “FÜR RETTUNGS-LEBEN” (“FOR LIFE-SAVING”), within an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 35.44 mm in diameter, weighing 24.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a museum exhibition example in extremely fine condition.
