Saxony, Kingdom. A Commemorative Cross for 1866

(Erinnerungskreuz 1866). Instituted 22 May 1867 by King Johann. (1867 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, consisting of Cross Pattée, with a central wreathed monogram of King Johann, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1867”, with stylized sunrays between the quadrants, unmarked, measuring 30.05 mm (w) x 34.34 mm (h), weighing 10.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
