Saxony, Kingdom. A Friedrich August Medal in Silver with World War Clasp
(Friedrich August Medaille in Silber). Instituted 23 April 1905 by King Friedrich August III. (1905-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with World War clasp, the obverse with a central monogram of King Friedrich August III, within a laurel wreath, the reverse with an inscription of “FRIEDRICH AUGUST MEDAILLE”, within a wreath of stylized oak leaves, unmarked, measuring 28.54 mm in diameter, weighing 15.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
