(Medaillen fur Lebensrettung). Instituted 18 May 1831. Type VIII. A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears the right-facing portrait of King Friedrich August circumscribed with “FRIEDRICH AUGUST KÖNIG VON SAXONY” (FRIEDRICH AUGUST KING OF SAXONY), the reverse is inscribed with “FUR LEBENS-RETTUNG” (FOR LIFESAVING), encompassed by an oak leaf wreath, measuring 35.53 mm (w) x 40.55 mm (h), with suspension ring, very fine.
