(Medaillen für Lebensrettung). Instituted on 18 May 1831. Type VIII. (1905-1918 Issue). A round silver medal, the obverse centre presents the right-facing portrait of Friedrich August, surrounded by the inscription FRIEDRICH AUGUST KÖNIG VON SACHSEN, the reverse centre presents the three-line inscription FÜR LEBENS-RETTUNG (FOR LIFE SAVING), bordered by a dense oak leaf wreath, measuring 35.53 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in near extremely fine condition.
