Saxony, Kingdom. A Miniature Albrecht Order in Gold, I Class Knight with Crown, c.1905
(Albrechts-Orden Ritterkreuz I. Klasse mit Krone). Instituted 31 December 1850 by King Friedrich Augustus II of Saxony. (1901-1918 Issue). Constructed of Gold with multi-coloured enamels, presenting as a Latin Cross with white enameled arms, joined by a green enameled laurel wreath, obverse with central Gold medallion depicting rightward-facing profile of Duke Albert III of Saxony, inside blue enameled ring with gilded inscription of “ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS” (“ALBERT THE BOLD”), reverse with raised enameled Saxon coat of arms, inside blue enameled ring with gilded design and date of “1850”, with hollow Gold crown looped suspension, unmarked, measuring 12.67 mm (w) x 21.70 mm (h), weighing 2.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
