(Goldene Medaille des Militär St. Heinrichs-Orden). Issued 1917-1918. A round bronze gilt medal; the obverse depicting a rightward facing bust of Friedrich August, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed “Verdienst um das Vaterland” (German - Merit for the Fatherland) within a laurel wreath; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 35.81 mm in diameter; weighing 21.5 grams with its ribbon; in overall very fine condition.
