Saxony, Kingdom. An Order of Saint Henry, Silver Medal
(Medaille des Militär-St.Heinrichs-Ordens in Silber). Instituted 23 December 1829. (1848-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised rightward-facing profile of King Friedrich August, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “VERDIENST UM DAS FATHERLAND” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”), within a circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottoms by canons and standards, the obverse bearing an engraver’s mark, measuring 35.87 mm in diameter, weighing 20.3 grams, in extremely fine condition.
