Schaumburg-Lippe, Principality. A Faithful Service Cross, I Class, c.1915
(Steckkreuz für Treue Dienste). Instituted 18 November 1914 by Prince Adolph. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse bearing a central crowned monogram of Prince Adolph, the arms bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE 1914” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE 1914”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.52 mm (w) x 36.76 mm (h), weighing 21.0 grams, minor oxidation evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
