Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Principality. A Medal for Merit in War
(Medaille für Verdienst im Krieg). Instituted 21 August 1914 by Prince Günther. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central monogram of Prince Günther, above a date of “1914”, the reverse with an inscription of “VERDIENST IM KRIEGE” (“MERIT IN WAR”), within a laurel wreathed joined together at the bottom by ribbon, unmarked, measuring 39.53 mm in diameter, in better than very fine condition.
