Schwarzburg-Rudolstaft, Principality. A Medal for Merit in War 1914
(Silberne Medaille für Verdienst im Kriege). Instituted 21 August 1914 by Prince Günther. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised monogram of Prince Günther, above a date of “1914”, the reverse with a central inscription of “VERDIENST IM KRIEGE” (“MERIT IN WAR”), within a laurel wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, unmarked, measuring 38.95 mm in diameter, weighing 19.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
