Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Principality. A Silver Honour Medal, c.1875
(Ehrenmedaille in Silber). Instituted 9 June 1857/28 May 1857 by Prince Friedrich Günther of Rudolstadt and Prince Günther Friedrich Carl II of Sondershausen. (1857-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from medalbar, the obverse bearing a raised Schwarzburg lion, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE UND VERDIENST” (“FOR LOYALTY AND SERVICE”) with oak leaf branches, the reverse bearing a raised monogram of Prince Friedrich Günther, unmarked, measuring 32.08 mm in diameter, weighing 18.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
