Waldeck, Principality. A Friedrich-Bathildis Medal
(Friedrich-Bathildis-Medaille). Instituted 24 December 1915 by Prince Friedrich. (1915-1918 issue). Constructed of bronze, with an integral suspension loop, the obverse bearing raised leftward-facing profile of Prince Friedrich and Princess Bathildis, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUES WIRKEN IN EISERNER ZEIT 1915” (“FOR FAITHFUL WORK IN THE IRON TIME 1915”), the obverse bearing a designer mark of “R KORWARZIK” for the firm of Rudolf Kowarzik, measuring 38.23 mm in diameter, weighing 20.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
