Württemberg, Kingdom. A Wilhelms Cross, with Case, by K. Münzamt
(Wilhelmskreuz). Instituted on 13 September 1915. A bronze cross pattée alisée, with the imperial crown on the 12 o’clock arm and the year 1915 on the 6 o’clock arm, the obverse centre with the cipher of King Wilhelm II within an oak wreath, the reverse centre presents the inscription KRIEGSVERDIENST within a circular oak wreath border, measuring 43.81 mm (w) x 43.71 mm (h), weighing 27.3 grams, with laterally-pierced loop for ribbon suspension, and in very fine condition, accompanied by the fitted pasteboard case of issue, the obverse centre presents the initials W.K. m.S., the interior lid maker marked K. Münzamt, Stuttgart, presenting a white velvet recessed medal bed, measuring 64 mm (w) x 93 mm (l) x 16 mm (h), presenting scuffed edges, and in good condition.
