A bronze cross, with swords between the arms, the obverse centre presents the letter W in Gothic script, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves, the twelve o’clock arm bears the crown, the six o’clock arm bears the date 1915, the reverse centre presents the inscription KRIEGS VERDIENST (WAR MERIT),surrounded by a border of oak leaves, measuring 44.18 mm (w) x 48.47 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in near extremely fine condition.
