(Friedrichs-Orden Ritterkreuz I. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted 1 January 1830 by King Wilhelm I. (1870-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms joined together through the quadrants by stylized rays, bearing double-sided central white enameled medallion overlaid by gilded monograms of King Wilhelm I, each situated within a gilded ring, the twelve o’clock arm topped by a crossed sword clasp, in turn retaining a suspension ring with a period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 36.41 mm (w) x 46.57 mm (h), weighing 19.2 grams, demonstrating moderate flecking and loss of gilt finish to the enamels and base metal, respectively, in near extremely fine condition.
