Germany, Heer. A Pair of Heer Officer’s Trousers
(Heer Tuchhose für Offizier). A well-preserved pair of Heer Officer’s trousers, constructed of field-grey wool. The waistband features six belt loops, and features two reverse straps emanating from the seam and fastening into the interior for the accommodation of suspenders. The trousers close with a French fly with four black bakelite buttons on the right meeting an equal number of hidden buttonholes on the left, topped by a magnetic metal clip. Two side pockets open with vertical slits, while an additional small pocket is set into the upper right leg. An additional reverse pocket is located at the upper right leg, closing with a scalloped horizontal flap and reinforced buttonhole meeting a bakelite button. The trousers also feature an integrated belt, consisting of dual straps set into the reverse just underneath the waistband, each adjusted with a functional magnetic metal buckle. The interior features a partial white cotton liner around the waist, affixed with four black bakelite buttons and bearing a suspension loop for hanging. Unmarked, the trousers measure approximately 380 mm across the waist, with an inseam of 320 mm, and an overall length of 1045 mm. Minor material fatigue is evident to high-contact points, with a small stitched repair visible to the upper right leg adjacent to the fly. The trousers are in an overall better than very fine condition.
