Germany, Heer. An Unissued Engineer/Pioneer Field Service Tunic
(Feldbluse). A reed green, denim construction field blouse, with a Herringbone Twill weave, presenting single-breasted with four non-pleated patch pockets, with pointed pockets, displaying a total of ten field-grey metal buttons, six arranged down the front of the tunic, meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes, and one to each pocket, held in place by split rings, maker marked on reverse with initials PC, above the right breast pocket is a machine-woven national breast eagle in matte-grey rayon threads on a cut-out, woven field grey rayon base, hand stitched to the tunic, measuring 105 mm (w) x 43 mm (h), at the neck is a single metal hook and clasp, located on the inside of the neck are three small buttons positioned to allow the neckband to be buttoned across the wearer’s neck, the fold down collar presents two EM/NCO collar tabs, each constructed of matte-aluminum thread in the army pattern Litzen with three bars in grey branch colours, sewn directly on to the collar, each measuring 25 mm (w) x 63 mm (l), each shoulder presents slip-on shoulder straps of field-grey wool with black rayon waffenfarbe piping, measuring 47 mm (w) x 111 mm (h), the reverse features a 16.3 cm deep slit in the centre of the jacket skirt, the side panels of the tunic each have three, vertically aligned, stitched eyelets at the waistline for the belt support hooks, the straight cut sleeve cuffs have a small vertical slash to the outside seams with dual fit adjustment buttons, the right cuff features a tailor’s tag for measurements 443 41 94 42 70 58, the interior is unlined and presents a grey cotton field dressing pocket with a single button closure at the forward right side, the tunic measures 35 cm across the shoulders, 57 cm length in the sleeves, and 82 cm in total length, and is in better than extremely fine condition.
