Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Kriegsmarine. An Oberleutnant’s Reefer Jacket

(Kriegsmarine dunkelblaues Jackett für einen Oberleutnant). A well-preserved Kriegsmarine Oberleutnant’s reefer jacket, constructed of dark navy blue whipcord wool. It features a turned-down collar which transitions into double breast lapels. The cuff of each sleeve is fully surrounded by two gold bullion wire tresses topped by five-pointed stars of identical wire construction, indicating a rank of Oberleutnant. The breasts feature two side pockets set into the lower half of each flap, both of which have buttonless closure. An additional narrow pocket is set into the upper left. Stitched onto the upper right breast is an insignia consisting of a dark navy blue wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered gold bullion wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 100 mm (w) x 40 mm (h) overall. Four threaded loops are arranged vertically between the two left pockets for the accommodation of decorations with vertical pinbacks. It closes with five gilded magnetic metal buttons on each flap which meet an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the opposite sides. Stitched through the uppermost buttonhole on the left side is a ribbon for a 1939 Iron Cross II Class. The interior is fully encompassed by a black rayon liner which transitions into a pinstripe design through the arms. Unmarked, the jacket measures approximately 48 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 61 cm, and an overall body length of 81 cm. Minor, age-appropriate fatigue is visible to some of the wire features, but the jacket demonstrates no significant damage or wear and remains in an extremely fine condition.
