Germany, Luftwaffe. A Drill/Work Blouse
(Luftwaffe Drillich/Arbeitsbluse). A well-preserved Luftwaffe drill/work blouse, constructed of white cotton herringbone twill (HBT). It features a turned-down collar which transitions into double breast lapels. The cuff of each sleeve has a vertical slit closed with two bakelite buttons for an adjustable fit. Flanking the waist are two sets of five vertical eyelets for the accommodation of an optional belt hanger. It closes with five bakelite buttons on the right breast flap meeting an equal number of hidden buttonholes on the left. The interior of the left breast is stamped with a Luftwaffe Bekleidungsamt (LBA) mark, situated just above a partially-legible Krefeld-based maker’s mark and size dimensions. The blouse measures approximately 45 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 50 cm, and an overall body length of 50 cm. Moderate soiling consistent with period wear is evident, but the blouse demonstrates no notable damage or other condition issues and is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
