Germany, SS. A Pair of Waffen-SS Dot-Pattern M44 Camouflage Trousers
(Waffen-SS Tarnhose). A well-preserved pair of Waffen-SS M44 camouflage trousers, constructed of cotton twill. The exterior is finished in a light grey-brown base, bearing a dot-pattern camouflage mottle consisting of light green, dark green, and tan-colored irregular spots. The waistband features an integrated belt system, consisting of dual side straps adjusted with functional magnetic metal buckles. Four additional straps emanate from the waistband, with two at the front and two at the back, fastening with zink buttons for the accommodations of uniform suspenders. The trousers feature dual side pockets, each opening at the hip with diagonal slits. They feature a French fly, closing with six zink buttons on the right meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the opposite side. A small pocket flanks the fly on the upper right thigh, while a further pocket is set into the reverse of the upper right leg. The reverse also features a reinforced seat, consisting of an additional patch of identical material machine-stitched onto the outer layer. A vertical slit is set into each ankle, both featuring three reinforced buttonholes. A grey cotton liner partially lines the interior through the waist area, and also forms the liner of the pockets. Stamped onto the back is a partially-obscured size chart, above a SS-Bekleidungswerke insignia. The trousers measure approximately 350 mm across the waist, with an inseam of 310 mm and a total leg length of 900. Material fatigue consistent with age and field use is evident, but the trousers are in an overall better than very fine condition.
