Germany, Wehrmacht. A Long-Sleeved Undershirt
(Wehrmacht langärmliges Unterhemd). An extremely well-preserved general-issue Wehrmacht undershirt, constructed of an elasticized cotton/wool-blended material. It features a turned down collar and long sleeves for maximum protection against the elements. The cuff of each sleeve features a vertical slit closed with a single pressed card stock button meeting an analogous reinforced buttonholes. Each breast features a pleated pocket, both opening with a gently scalloped flap featuring a reinforced buttonhole meeting an identical pressed card stock button. A vertical slit in the centre of the chest closes with four pressed card stock buttons on the right meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. The interior presents plain and unmarked. It measures approximately 460 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 560 mm, and an overall body length of 785 mm. With no evident damage or wear, it is in an overall extremely fine condition.
