Germany, Luftwaffe. An Enlisted Flight Personnel Tropical Field Blouse, by B. Rawe & Co.

(Luftwaffe Tropenfeldbluse). A Luftwaffe Enlisted Flight Personnel tropical field blouse, constructed of light tan-coloured cotton twill. It features a pleated collar, and is flanked on each side by straps constructed of tan-coloured cotton and trimmed with golden-yellow piping. Each strap measures 45 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), and is secured to the blouse by an integrated loop at the outer edge and by a pebbled, brown-painted, magnetic metal button on the inner edge. The cuff of each sleeve is pleated and features a vertical slit with a reinforced buttonhole meeting dual brown bakelite buttons, allowing for an adjustable fit. Each breast flap has dual pockets, all opening with reinforced horizontal flap and reinforced buttonholes meeting pebbled, brown-painted, magnetic metal buttons. Stitched onto the blouse above the upper left pocket is an insignia in the form of a tan-coloured cotton backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The eagle insignia measures 95 mm (w) x 50 mm (h). The interior breast flaps bear a single brown bakelite button on each side, with a single interior pocket located at the lower right. Stitched onto the back of the interior are light brown cotton bands, each perforated with three reinforced eyelets for the addition of an optional belt hanger. It is stamped on the left breast flap with black ink maker’s mark of “B. RAWE & CO., RHEDA”, along with size dimensions of “43,46, 41, 90, 129, 66”. Four brown bakelite buttons are distributed across the interior of the collar, which also features an integrated cotton suspension loop and a magnetic metal hook and clasp for secure closure. The blouse measures approximately 470 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 580 mm and an overall body length of 670 mm. Minor soiling and material fatigue is evident, but the blouse is in an overall extremely fine condition.
