Second War German Africa Corps (DAK) M40 Tropical Shorts
This is a pair of German Africa Corps (Deutsches Afrikakorps) model Tropical M40 - shorts (Kurze Hose), crafted out of olive coloured medium cotton and olive thread. In place of a zipper, it features four metal cross-stitched buttons facing outwards, and two metal cross stitched buttons to ensure a snug fit. There is a small horizontal-slit pocket to the front-left and two horizontal-slit pockets on both front sides. There is also a horizontal-slit pocket to the right-rear, secured by an outward facing metal button. The inside waistband, lined with champagne coloured cotton, is stamped with “1/23” and illegible manufacturer’s details. The waistband has two clips, one on either side of the frontal opening, to secure the matching M40 tropical jacket, since the M40 did not feature rear suspender straps as issued with the M40 pants (Tropenhose). These pants feature an integrated light olive coloured belt, secured by a three prong-buckle, and a single belt loop to the front-left. Measurements: 86cm waist, 28cm inseam, 62cm total length. Some white marks throughout on the front and rear, and a small stain on the front of the left pant leg. Overall fine condition.
