In aluminum with red enamels, illustrating the German Democratic Republic hammer and compass insignia, surrounded by a full wreath with a trunk base, simulating a tree, surrounded on three sides with the inscription "SCHÖNER UNSERE STÄDTE UND GEMEINDEN" (Beautify Our Cities and Communities) and inscribed "MACH MIT" (Participate) below, measuring 92 mm (w) x 116 mm (h), extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, red pebbled exterior, inside lid in a white satin-like material, illustrating the German Democratic Republic coat-of-arms and inscribed in gold-coloured ink "Für hervorragende Leistungen im Wettbewerb" (For Outstanding Performance in the Competition), the base in cheery red felt and incorporating a recessed medal bed, measuring 138 mm (w) x 158 mm (h) x 26.5 mm (d), lightly soiled on the exterior, case near extremely fine.
