Germany. An Early 1957 Version German Cross in Silver Miniature
An early and mint example of a German Cross in Silver Miniature; alternative 1957 version; constructed of multi-coloured aluminum; with a double-overlaid sunburst pattern with eight points; the centre with a denazified War Merit Cross with Swords exhibiting an oak leaf cluster in place of the swastika (“Hakenkreuz”) with a stamped circular wreath impressed with oak leaves, ribbons, and the introduction year (1941). The inner and outer sides of the wreath feature a thin red enameled line with a silver core in the middle; on a blue modern ribbon for suspension; measuring 17 mm (w) x 17 mm (h); in overall mint condition.
