(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1957 reissue). Constructed of iron and nickel alloy, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.32 mm (w) x 44.34 mm (h), weighing 15.3 grams, in extremely fine condition.
