(Nahkampfspange in Gold). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, set over a magnetic iron backplate, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays with two acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 96.90 mm (w) x 25.47 mm (h), weighing 33.1 grams, in extremely fine condition.
