Constructed of silvered bronze with gilt, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving gilt Assmann-style Luftwaffe eagle, on top of a background bearing an engraved inscription of “TREUE UM TREUE” (“LOYALTY BEGETS LOYALTY”), the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 40.98 mm (w) x 52.52 mm (h), weighing 34.0 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident, in overall very fine condition.
