An alternative de-nazified replacement version of a Luftschutz Ehrenzeichen; in gilded bronze; on loop for suspension; with original ribbon; measuring 45.19 mm x 37.54 mm; weighing 31.0 grams; near mint condition.

Footnote: In 1957, the Federal Republic of Germany authorized the wear of denazified Second War awards and decorations as those with swastikas were banned (and still are today) for wear or display after 1945. The 1957 mode of the 1st Class Air Raid Defence Honour Medal is virtually identical to its “predecessor” but without its large swastika on the obverse.
