A German Western Powers Berlin Airlift Commemorative Medal 1948
Bronze with a copper-coloured wash, obverse illustrating a plane flying over a distribution yard housing a manned forklift and a truck with workers processing various supplies, the coat-of-arms of the City of Berlin flanked by "19" at the left and "48" at the right (1948) below, surrounded by the inscription "LUFTBRÜCKE DER WESTMÄCHTE", reverse inscribed "DIE WELT BEWUNDERT DEN KAMPF DER BERLINER" and marked with the engraver's initials below, 40 mm, scattered wear evident in the copper-coloured wash, near extremely fine.
