Germany. A Black Grade Wound Badge; Denazified
An example of a third reich period German “Verwundetenabzeichen”; oval shaped bronze; the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom - note that the swastika was removed but is still visible on the reverse; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; measuring 36.80 mm (w) x 44.26 mm (h); weighing 12.7 grams; with nearly all of its original finish worn off; in overall fair condition.
