(Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub und Etui). Reinstituted 1 September 1939, with Oak Leaves 3 June 1940. (1939-1945 issue; post-1957 reissue). Constructed of neusilber, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened non-magnetic core within a ribbed and silvered frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to an Oak Leaf clasp, itself constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of three overlaid and finely-detailed oak leaves, the reverse with dual intact attachment prongs, the reverse stamped with a silver content number of “800”, the cross measuring 48.30 mm (w) x 54.38 mm (h), the clasp measuring 20.35 mm (w) x 19.77 mm (h), weighing 34.9 grams overall, retaining a period original full-length neck ribbon, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a padded white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted and depressed black felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 145 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
