What's a max bid?

(Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Verdienstkreuz I. Klasse). Instituted 7 September 1951. (1951-present issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with red enameled arms and bearing a central Federal Republic-style German national eagle, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a locking catch, unmarked, measuring 55.06 mm (w) x 55.22 mm (h), weighing 18.2 grams, accompanied by a stick pin miniature, constructed of gilded bronze with enamels and machine embroidery, unmarked, measuring 12 mm (w) x 9 mm (h); accompanied by a period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt embossed Federal Republic-style German national eagle, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted navy blue felt medal bed, closing with a functional bronze snap button, the bottom maker marked “STEINHAUER & LÜCK, LÜDENSCHEID”, secreted within a card stock case of issue, in overall near mint condition.
