Germany, Luftwaffe. A Cased Paratrooper Badge, Post-1957 Reissue

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Instituted on 5 November 1936 by Hermann Göring. (1936-1945). Constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, the obverse with a swooping Luftwaffe-style German national eagle, the reverse with two rivets visible holding obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 41.17 mm (w) x 53.07 mm (h), weighing 33.4 grams, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of black plastic with a faux leather exterior texture, the interior with a black foam medal bed, unmarked, measuring 85 mm (w) x 88 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), in very fine condition.
