(Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse mit Etui). Constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and narrow banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 49.75 mm (w) x 49.36 mm (h), weighing 18.6 grams, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the obverse lid with a silver embossed outline of the decoration, the interior with a padded white satin-type lid liner, intact hinge cover, slotted black felt medal bed, with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 67 mm (w) x 67 mm (l) x 21 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
