(Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse mit Schwertern und Etui). Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, with crossed swords piercing the centre, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 49.01 mm (w) x 48.95 mm (h), weighing 21.9 grams, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the obverse lid with a silvered embossed depiction of the decoration, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner with an intact hinge cover, slotted black felt medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, with a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
