Germany, Empire-Third Reich. Three German Medals, Awards, and Decorations
A grouping of three German medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of 1) A Romanian Crusade Against Communism Medal (Romanian Cruciada Impotriva Comunismului). A circular gilded bronze medal; on loop for suspension; with its period original ribbon; the obverse with a hand holding a sword vertically with sun rays to the left and right of the hilt, and circumscribed “1941” as well as “Cruciada Importava Comunismului” (Crusade against Communism); the reverse with a portrait of a female facing towards the left and circumscribed “Romania Recunoscatoare” (Romania Recognisant); measuring 31.92 mm in diameter, weighing 16.3 grams. 2) A Spanish Civil War Campaign Medal (Medalla de la Campana 1936-1939). Constructed of circular gilded and blackened bronze; on loop for suspension; with its period original ribbon with a horizontal pinback attached, the obverse with a gilded half-wreath of laurel leaves on the right, and a half-wreath of oak leaves to the left, with a blackened, recessed center depicting a lion slaying a griffin with a hammer and sickle on its wing, all superimposed over four gilded swords oriented like a cross, with a sun with shining rays on the top right quarter, and “17 Julio 1936” on the top left quarter of the medal, the reverse with a gilded eagle clutching a blackened Spanish coat of arms beside the fascist symbol of five arrows tied together with a rope towards the right, and a Spanish helmet towards the bottom, and inscribed “Arriba Espana”, measuring 36.22 mm in diameter, weighing 24.1 grams. 3) A Vichy France Guerilla Cross (Croix de Guerre). A cross pattee constructed of bronze, with crossed swords between the arms of the cross, the obverse depicting the rightward facing head of Marianne, circumscribed “Croix de Guerre”, the reverse dated “1939-1940”, on a loop for suspension from its correct replacement ribbon, measuring 38.14 mm (w) x 41.09 mm (h). In overall good condition.
