Germany, Imperial. A Pair of First World War Decorations, with Third Reich Period Document, to Bergmann Nicholas Fehn

A pair of Third Reich-period First World War service decorations to a single recipient, including an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords through the centrepiece, the obverse bearing wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of Reichsverband Pforzheim, measuring 38.16 mm (w) x 42.40 mm (h), weighing 14.4 grams, in extremely fine condition, and; a Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a cut-out background, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38.62 mm (w) x 43.65 mm (h), weighing 6.5 grams, accompanied by its award document, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to “BERGMANN NICOLAUS FEHN” of Herne, issued in Dortmund on 27 August 1937, with oxidation evident to the badge, an uncommon Third Reich-era service decoration set to a First World War veteran in overall very fine condition.
