Germany, Third Reich. A Lot of Badges and Medals
(Drittes Reich Abzeichen). A lot of four badges and medals, including a 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinsitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 44 mm (w) x 44 mm (h), weighing 20.0 grams, missing its integral loop, in overall very fine condition; a Wound Badge, Black Grade, constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 44 mm (h), loss of black finish is evident through and the catch is missing, in overall fair condition; a 1939 Labour Day badge, constructed of bronze, unmarked, measuring 36 mm in diameter, missing its pinback, in overall very fine condition, and; a 1939 Nordsee Sturmabteilung (SA) combat games badge, constructed of bakelite, vertical pinback, the reverse marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo, a maker code of “M9/50”, a maker’s mark of “STEINHAUER & LÜCK, LÜDENSCHEID”, with an inscription of “BREMEN 7.-9.VII.1939”, measuring 27 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
