Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges and Decorations
(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of five badges, including a Narvik Shield, constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse bearing a raised edelweiss, propeller, and anchor, reflecting the Gebirgsjäger, Luftwaffe, and Kriegsmarine, respectively, flanked by a date of “1940”, topped by an inscription of “NARVIK” and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, the reverse with three of four attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 40.47 mm (w) x 90.65 mm (h), weighing 18.9 grams, missing it backplate and liner and with minor loss of finish visible to the obverse, in very fine condition; a NSDAP membership badge, constructed of zink, the reverse marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/63” for Steinhauer & Lück, measuring 23 mm in diameter, missing its pinback and with total loss of finish evident, in poor condition; a small NSDAP membership badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked “HOFFSTÄTTER, BONN”, measuring 17 mm in diameter, with loss of finish evident, in very fine condition; a patriotic NSDAP-style badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 19 mm in diameter, with extensive scratching and chipping of enamels evident, in poor condition, and; a patriotic NSDAP-style stick pin, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, unmarked, measuring 18 mm in diameter, with minor scratching of enamels evident, in very fine condition.
