Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Decorations
(Medaillen). A mixed lot of four decorations, including a Social Welfare Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Geneva Cross overlaid by a central German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “MEDAILLE FÜR DEUTSCHE VOLKSPFLEGE” (“MEDAL FOR THE CARE OF THE GERMAN PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 38.02 mm in diameter, weighing 23.8 grams, in extremely fine condition; a SA Sports Badge, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, overlaid by a sword on top of a mobile swastika, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, maker marked “BERG & NOLTE, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 45.62 mm (w) x 58.14 mm (h), weighing 18.0 grams, in extremely fine condition; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a magnetic metal backplate and horizontal pinback, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords through the centre, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse marked “G5” for an unidentified maker, measuring 37.46 mm (w) x 42.35 mm (h), weighing 13.0 grams, with some oxidation and wear evident, in very fine condition, and; a Luftwaffenhelferin (Luftwaffe Female Auxiliary) badge, constructed of magnetic metal, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 42 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), with oxidation evident, in fair condition.
