Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Medals
(Medaillen). A mixed lot of five medals, including a Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.17 mm in diameter, weighing 14.6 grams, in extremely fine condition; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords through the centrepiece, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of L. Christian Lauer, Nuremberg, measuring 37.65 mm (w) x 42.07 mm (h), weighing 14.6 grams, in better than very fine condition; a pair of Honour Crosses of the German Mother, one in Bronze and one in Silver Grade, each constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loops for suspension, each consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse of each with blue and white enameled arms, with central mobile swastikas on white enameled discs, circumscribed by raised inscriptions of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“TO THE GERMAN MOTHER”), the reverse of each with etched institution dates of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and signatures of the Führer, each measuring 36 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition, and; a War Commemorative Medal of 1870/71, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 28.54 mm in diameter, weighing 10.1 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
