Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Badges
(Abzeichen). A pair of badges, including a Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.40 mm (w) x 45.08 mm (h), weighing 10.8 grams, in near mint condition, and; a NSDAP membership badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, the reverse marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/72” for Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart, measuring 23 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
